Larry the Cable Guy roast planned

NEW YORK, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Comedy Central says it has lined up Drew Carey, Jeff Foxworthy, Toby Keith, Lisa Lampanelli and Jeffrey Ross to roast U.S. comedian Larry the Cable Guy.

The stars are to poke fun at their friend and colleague for the television special, "Comedy Central Roast of Larry The Cable Guy," which is slated to be recorded on March 1 and scheduled to air on March 15.

Additional roasters at the event will be Nick DiPaolo, Greg Giraldo and Dan Marino, the network said.

Previous Comedy Central roastees include Bob Saget, rapper Flavor-Flav, actor William Shatner and Pamela Anderson.

Larry the Cable Guy is a popular stand-up comedian who has appeared in the films "Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector," "Delta Farce" and "Witless Protection." He also lent his voice to the character of Mater in the animated movie "Cars."
