JAKARTA, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- R&B songstress Rihanna has canceled her concert in Jakarta scheduled for Thursday, the local promoter said.
Showmaster's Troy Reza Warokka said the singer's U.S. agency told him "the concert had to be canceled because of an assault case involving Rihanna's boyfriend," The Daily Telegraph reported Wednesday
"He offered to reschedule but we don't think we'll take it up, not this year at least," Warokka said. "This is her second postponement. Her fans are traumatized and we've spent so much money on production and promotional materials."
Rihanna also postponed Friday's sold-out concert in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The cancellations came days after the 20-year-old Barbados-born singer reportedly was hurt during an argument with her 19-year-old boyfriend, singer Chris Brown, in a car in Los Angeles. Brown since has been arrested, booked for suspicion of making criminal threats and released on $50,000 bail. His arraignment is scheduled for next month.
Rihanna reportedly canceled her 21st birthday party and had gone into seclusion after the incident Sunday, the British newspaper reported.
Both Rihanna and Brown canceled their appearances at the Grammy Awards.
