GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Jessica Simpson showed off her figure in a skimpy pair of shorts while onstage in Grand Rapids, Mich., after being criticized for her clothes and weight.
People.com reported she told concertgoers Thursday night she had "a rough week" and that "You definitely have to confront everything you go through."
Simpson was the opening act for the country trio Rascal Flatts. She stopped singing during one of her songs and asked to start it over.
"Jessica just had an off night. She's a perfectionist and wanted to start some of the songs over. She always wants to give her best performance to her fans," her spokesperson said.
During the concert, Simpson told the crowd she was looking forward to a weekend rendezvous with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.
"I'm excited -- I get to see my boyfriend tomorrow," she told the crowd. "I love him so, so very much."
