Actress Danes engaged to actor Dancy

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Claire Danes and British actor Hugh Dancy are engaged to be married, the couple's representative has confirmed.

An unidentified representative for the 29-year-old actress and 33-year-old actor confirmed the couple are engaged after dating for more than a year, People.com reported Friday.

The two movie stars met while filming 2007's "Evening," the representative added.

Danes, known for roles in the TV series "My So-Called Life" and movies like "Romeo + Juliet," will next appear on the big screen in the drama "Me and Orson Welles."

E! Online said Dancy can soon be seen in the upcoming comedy "Confessions of a Shopaholic." Dancy previously appeared in "The Jane Austen Book Club," "Black Hawk Down" and "King Arthur."
