LOS ANGELES, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- A sequel to the U.S. movie "Sex and the City" is in the works with all four principal players signed on to reprise their roles, Variety.com reported.

Actresses Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis have all agreed to return for the second installment in the film franchise, which follows up the iconic HBO series that ended its six-season run in 2004.

Also on board for the second movie is writer-director-producer Michael Patrick King.

Variety.com said the script for the new film hasn't been written and no start date scheduled, however, it is believed New Line intends to release the movie in the summer of 2010.
