Screen Actors Guild receives star on Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 2 (UPI) -- The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers says its planned meetings with the U.S. Screen Actors Guild this week have been postponed.

The two entities -- which have not been able to hammer out a new contract since their last one expired June 30 -- were to have resumed talks Tuesday and Wednesday after months away from the bargaining table.

However, the AMPTP issued a statement Monday night, explaining, "Screen Actors Guild has advised us that it has a court proceeding that will conflict with our meeting this week and for that reason both parties felt it made sense to reschedule the meeting to a later date."

No further details regarding the situation were offered.

The announcement that SAG and AMPTP would start negotiating again came last week after SAG replaced its national executive director and chief negotiator, Doug Allen, who was widely criticized for standing in the way of a new AMPTP-SAG deal.
