LOS ANGELES, Jan. 31 (UPI) -- The Directors Guild of America says film director Carl Reiner will not be able to host its awards show in Los Angeles Saturday due to food poisoning.

The entertainment industry group said the longtime host of the annual awards ceremony had been stricken with food poisoning and therefore would be absent at this year's 22nd DGA Awards, The Hollywood Reporter said Friday.

The replacement host for the awards ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles will be actor Jon Cryer.

Cryer is best known for his leading role opposite Charlie Sheen in the CBS comedy "Two and a Half Men."
