It will be Legend's second Super Bowl appearance. He performed as part of a "Salute to Motown" during the Super Bowl XL pre-game show in Detroit, Columbia Records noted in a news release.
Grammy-nominated recording artist T-Pain is expected to join him on stage for an "electrifying version" of "Green Light," Legend's current hit single, the label said.
