NEW YORK, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has agreed to appear on the television talk show, "The View," ABC announced Thursday.

Rice's planned Jan. 29 appearance will mark her first on the show. It will also be her first post-administration television interview, the network noted.

"Dr. Rice will discuss the trials and triumphs she faced as secretary of state, her relationship with former President George W. Bush, the new administration, her future plans, her focus on education in America and how she hopes history and the American people will remember the Bush administration," ABC said in a news release. "Dr. Rice's appearance is part of the show's continuing 'Red, White & View' campaign, which highlights interviews and informational segments featuring prominent political figures."
