LOS ANGELES, Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Chris Evans, Brandon Routh and Brie Larson have signed up for roles in the big-screen version of the "Scott Pilgrim" series of graphic novels.

The Hollywood Reporter said Edgar Wright of "Hot Fuzz" fame is directing "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World," which he co-wrote with Michael Bacall.

The movie, which will be shot in Toronto, co-stars Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Mae Whitman and Alison Pill.

Cera will play the titular slacker who meets his dream girl (Winstead,) but must vanquish her seven evil ex-boyfriends before he can win her heart, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.
