LOS ANGELES, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Hollywood actors Brendan Fraser and Harrison Ford are teaming up for an as-yet-untitled big-screen drama, CBS Films announced Wednesday.

The pair will co-star in what is for now being called "The Untitled Crowley Project," said Amy Baer, president and chief executive officer of CBS Films, a division of the CBS Corp.

The project, which is based on true events and has an anticipated start date in early April, will be the first movie to go into production for CBS Films.

Fraser will play a father who recruits the help of "a reluctant maverick scientist (played by Ford) forging an unlikely friendship in a race against time to solve the scientific mystery that could save his family."

Tom Vaughan, whose credits include "Starter for 10" and "What Happens in Vegas," is set to direct.

"It's an inspirational drama with universally relatable themes," Baer said in a statement. "Brendan has the unique ability to portray both strength and vulnerability, resulting in compassionate and compelling characters we've seen in such films as 'Gods and Monsters' and 'Crash.' This makes him the perfect choice to bring this determined and loving father's story to the screen."

"We love uplifting stories inspired by ordinary people who fight to make a difference," added the film's producers -- Michael Shamberg, Stacey Sher and Carla Shamberg -- in a joint statement. "Done well, these films fall into a great tradition of Hollywood entertainment. Like our other films, this is one of those stories."
