'Idol' stars Caldwell and Cook break up

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Kimberly Caldwell's publicist says the singer is no longer dating "American Idol" winner David Cook.

Caldwell was a contestant in Season 2 of the singing competition TV series, while Cook was the winner of Season 7 of "Idol." They reportedly dated for several months.

"Kimberly and David ended their relationship just before the holidays. The couple remain good friends and being very private people, appreciate their privacy at this time," Caldwell's representative told People.com.

The magazine said Cook's publicist also confirmed the breakup.
