LOS ANGELES, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie and her husband, actor Josh Duhamel, flew off on a tropical honeymoon after their weekend wedding in California, witnesses said.

The pair left their wedding party in Malibu at 2 a.m. Sunday, and arrived at Los Angeles International Airport 12 hours later, bound for an unnamed tropical location, People reported Monday.

Witnesses at the airport said the bride dressed in high-waisted jeans with gold buttons, blue boots and a blouse, while her groom was in jeans with sneakers. Fergie, 33, and Duhamel, 36, had tied the knot at the Church Estates Vineyards in Malibu, the magazine said.

"They pulled up in a limo (sport utility vehicle), and Fergie got out first and smiled," a witness told People. "She looked so happy. After Josh got out with a carry-on bag, he immediately grabbed Fergie's hand in a very loving and protective way.

"Both said they really looked forward to their honeymoon. While making their way through airport security, the newlyweds waved to several fans."
