'Knight,' 'Wrestler' among ADG nominations

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- The Art Directors Guild says Hollywood movies such as "The Dark Knight" and "The Wrestler" are among its Excellence in Production Design Award nominees.

The Hollywood Reporter said Friday that "Knight" and its production designer, Nathan Crowley, have been nominated in the fantasy film category of the guild's 13th annual awards show.

Crowley and his movie will be going against "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," "Iron Man," "The Spiderwick Chronicles" and "WALL-E."

"Wrestler" production designer Timothy Grimes, meanwhile, earned kudos in the contemporary film category, alongside the designers for "Burn After Reading," "Gran Torino," "Quantum of Solace" and "Slumdog Millionaire."

Period film nominees for the Feb. 14 awards show include "Changeling," "Doubt," "Frost/Nixon," "Milk" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button."

The Reporter said production design nominees for commercials included "Capital One -- Santa," "Capital One -- Squid," "Chevy," "Farmers Insurance -- Drowned Circus" and "Victoria's Secret -- Holiday."
