7 films eligible for Makeup Oscar

BEVERLY HILLS , Calif., Jan. 7 (UPI) -- "The Dark Knight," "The Reader," "Synecdoche, New York," "Tropic Thunder" and "The Wrestler" are all eligible for nomination for the 2008 Makeup Oscar.

"The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" and "Hellboy II: The Golden Army" are eligible in the category, as well, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced.

The list will be pared down to three finalists when nominations for the 81st Academy Awards are announced Jan. 22 in the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Los Angeles.

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2008 are to be presented Feb. 22 at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center and televised live by the ABC Television Network.
