LOS ANGELES, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Soulja Boy Tell'em introduced his upcoming Web series via his latest video for the song "Soulja Boy Tell'em" Tuesday, Interscope Records said.

The video, which debuted on his Web site, and the series, which will follow in late January, both combine live action and animation.

"I always wanted to do a cartoon," Soulja Boy Tell'em said in a statement. "I am excited because I think that the subject matter will give my fans what they would expect from me."

"The show titled 'Soulja Boy Tell'em: The Animated Series' follows an animated Soulja Boy who is in midst of enjoying his hip-hop superstardom when he's suddenly forced to return to high school," Interscope said in a release. "Of course, Soulja Boy, with the help of his animated friends, is continually doing whatever he can to get out of his daily school routine. The school's principal, played by a live-action Alfonso Ribiero (from 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air') is always hot on Soulja Boy's heels to keep him in line."

The series is to appear on his Web site www.souljaboytellem.com.

"Soulja Boy is one of the most charismatic artists of his generation," said Brian Washington, marketing director for Interscope Records. "His ability to speak to his fans and, just as importantly, the way in which he does so, make him such an innovator in how music and entertainment is consumed and discovered today."
