LONDON, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Hackers tampered with the Twitter.com accounts of President-elect Barack Obama, pop star Britney Spears and actor Stephen Fry, Britain's Daily Telegraph said.

The newspaper said CNN anchor Rick Sanchez had his account hacked and hoax messages attributed to him were posted Monday on the short-form blogging service. A message supposedly from Sanchez said, "I am high on crack right now; might not be coming into work today."

Obama supporters were greeted with the message: "What is your opinion on Barack Obama? Take the survey and possibly win $500 in free gas."

Joke postings regarding the measurements of Spears's body parts and free iPhones courtesy of Fry also made the rounds, the Telegraph said.

Twitter.com said on its Web site, "We proactively reset the passwords of the accounts (that were affected by the incident.)"

The company has deleted the hoax posts, the newspaper said.
