LONDON, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Queen Elizabeth II has named singer Robert Plant a Commander of the Order of the British Empire.

The monarch bestowed the honor on the rocker Thursday, E! News said.

Plant made headlines last year by declining to take part in an upcoming Led Zeppelin reunion tour. The 60-year-old performer said he is too busy collaborating with singer Alison Krauss to reunite with his iconic former rock band.
