NAPERVILLE, Ill., Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Gina Glocksen, a finalist on "American Idol" and host of the reality show "American Idol Extra," married in a New Year's Eve ceremony.
Glocksen's new husband is teacher Joe Ruzicka, People reported. The couple met in 2005 when she auditioned for his cover band, and he proposed last year in front of a live audience.
The non-denominational service was held at the Century Memorial Chapel at Naper Settlement in Naperville, Ill. Glocksen was attended by Haley Scarnato and Jordin Sparks, who were contestants with her on the sixth season of "American Idol."
"Joe is my strength, my best friend," Glocksen, 24, told People.
Glocksen is working on an album that she plans to release in the middle of the year.
