

NEWBURY, Vt., Dec. 31 (UPI) -- U.S. film star Matt Dillon has been arrested and charged with speeding in Vermont for allegedly driving 106 mph. on Interstate-91.
WPTZ-TV, Plattsburgh, N.Y., reported that Dillon was arrested Tuesday night by Vermont state police who say the Hollywood actor was driving a rented 2009 Chevrolet Impala 41 m.p.h. over the posted speed limit in the town of Newbury.
Police told the TV station they photographed, fingerprinted and released Dillon with a citation to appear in Orange County Court on Jan. 21.
The 44-year-old actor's screen credits include "The Outsiders," "There's Something About Mary," "Crash," "You, Me and Dupree" and "Nothing But the Truth."
People magazine said Wednesday Dillon's publicist couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
