'Office' star to make Broadway debut

NEW YORK, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Melora Hardin will make her Broadway debut in the stage musical "Chicago," Playbill.com reported.

Hardin is an actress-singer-songwriter best known for playing Jan, the on-again-off-again girlfriend of the character Michael on TV's "The Office." She has also appeared in "The Comebacks," "Monk," "Me, Mom, Dad and Her," "Gilmore Girls," "Without a Trace," "Thank You for Smoking," "Boston Legal," "Judging Amy," "Once and Again," "Renegade," "Touched by an Angel" and "Friends."

Playbill.com said Hardin takes over the role of Roxie Hart Monday night and will continue to portray her through Feb. 12, 2009.

The revival of "Chicago" celebrated its 12th anniversary and its 5,000th performance on Broadway Nov. 14.
