LOS ANGELES, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- A tissue U.S. actress Scarlett Johansson blew her nose in has sold for $5,300 on eBay and the proceeds have been donated to charity, "Extra" reported.

The cold-suffering Johansson blew her nose in the tissue while promoting her new movie "The Spirit" on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" last week. During the interview, the actress explained she caught her cold from Samuel L. Jackson, her co-star in the film, and joked that the mild illness had special value since it was the convergence of two big stars.

Her used tissue was then placed on eBay and all proceeds of the sale went to benefit the charity of Johansson's choice, USA Harvest, NBC said.

"Extra" said the bidding started at 99 cents and ended at $5,300 when the auction closed Monday night.

There were 83 bids for the item, eBay said.
