Publicist says Spears not dating Madden

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 22 (UPI) -- Britney Spears's publicist says a report claiming the U.S. pop singer is dating Good Charlotte musician Benji Madden isn't true.

In Touch magazine reported the famous pair have been seeing each other since Spears's father and manager set them up.

Madden became available when he broke up with heiress and some-time actress Paris Hilton last month after nearly a year of dating, though he reportedly still has been spotted with her at parties recently.

Spears is a divorced mother of two young boys.

"The claims made by In Touch are completely false," Spears's spokeswoman told E! News about the claim Spears is in a romantic relationship with Madden. "There is not an ounce of truth to any of it."
