'Legal,' 'Mad Men' earn SAG award nods

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- The casts of "Boston Legal," "Dexter," "House," "Mad Men" and "The Closer" were nominated for the Screen Actors Guild prize for best ensemble in a TV drama.

The casts of "30 Rock," "Desperate Housewives," "Entourage," "The Office" and "Weeds" were nominated in the comedy series ensemble category.

Nominated for outstanding performance by an actor in a drama series are Michael C. Hall from "Dexter," Jon Hamm from "Mad Men," Hugh Laurie from "House" and James Spader and William Shatner from "Boston Legal."

Vying for the statuette for actress in a drama- series are Sally Field of "Brothers & Sisters," Mariska Hargitay of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," Holly Hunter of "Saving Grace," Elisabeth Moss of "Mad Men" and Kyra Sedgwick of "The Closer."

The nominees for the prize for outstanding performance by an actor in a comedy series are Alec Baldwin for "30 Rock," Steve Carell for "The Office," David Duchovny for "Californication," Jeremy Piven for "Entourage" and Tony Shalhoub for "Monk."

Competing for the actress in a comedy series award are Christina Applegate from "Samantha Who?" America Ferrera from "Ugly Betty," Tina Fey from "30 Rock," Mary-Louise Parker from "Weeds" and Tracey Ullman from "Tracey Ullman's State of the Union."

The SAG Awards ceremony is to be simulcast live Jan. 25 on TNT and TBS.
