Sweetin daughter visits to be supervised

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- A California judge Wednesday ruled that former child actress Jodie Sweetin must be supervised when she is with her 8-month-old daughter, Zoie, TMZ reported.

Sweetin, 26, was one of the stars of the classic family sit-com "Full House." She is also a recovering meth addict and alcoholic.

Her estranged husband Cody Herpin, 31, has accused her of being an unfit mother based on an alleged incident in which Sweetin is said to have driven drunk with their baby in the car.

An Orange County judge ruled at an emergency custody hearing, which Herpin requested, that Sweetin, who lives with her parents, will not be allowed to be with the child unless Sweetin's mother or father is with her, too.

TMZ said a doctor testified Sweetin suffered a relapse in her battle with addiction, but she also noted Sweetin has been going to Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and talking to her sponsor.

The doctor added that she does not believe the former couple's baby is in danger right now.

Sweetin filed for legal separation from Herpin, her husband of 16 months, in November.

She reportedly claimed in court documents that Herpin hasn't worked since they married and that their home is now in foreclosure with the utilities turned off for nonpayment.

Sweetin is seeking joint custody of Zoie, while Herpin is seeking sole custody of the baby.
