NEW YORK, Dec. 12 (UPI) -- Hollywood actor Patrick Swayze, who is undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer, sat down for an interview with Barbara Walters, ABC said Friday.

The chat, which took place at Swayze's California ranch, marks the first TV interview the "Ghost" and "Dirty Dancing" actor has granted since he announced his illness several months ago, the network said.

"Barbara Walters Special -- Patrick Swayze: The Truth" is set to air on ABC Jan. 7.
