SIOUX FALLS, N.D., Dec. 11 (UPI) -- British actor and former professional soccer player Vinnie Jones was charged with three counts of simple assault in connection with a South Dakota bar brawl.

E! News said the actor -- best known for his work in the films "X-Men: The Last Stand" and "Snatch" -- was formally charged Wednesday and is scheduled to be arraigned Dec. 30 in Minnehaha County Court.

The charges stem from a Dec. 4 incident in which Jones allegedly hit a patron at Wiley's Tavern in Sioux Falls, then was smashed in the face with a beer glass by another barfly.

E! said the scuffle was captured on the saloon's security cameras.
