Suspect: Ruffalo played Russian roulette

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- The suspect being held without bail for the shooting of Scott Ruffalo says the brother of U.S. film star Mark Ruffalo shot himself playing Russian roulette.

Scott Ruffalo, a 39-year-old hairstylist, died Monday night, a week after he suffered a gunshot wound to the head, Beverly Hills police told KTLA-TV, Los Angeles.

No other details about Ruffalo's death were mentioned in the report.

Shaha Mishaal Adham, a 26-year-old woman, turned herself in to the Beverly Hills police earlier Monday after a warrant was issued for her arrest in connection with the shooting at Ruffalo's Beverly Hills condo last week, People.com said, adding Adham is now being held without bail.

TMZ said Adham has told police she went to Ruffalo's home to pick up her car, which she had lent him, and Ruffalo shot himself in the head playing the dangerous game of chance while she and another person were there.

The entertainment news Web site said Adham claims she took off after the shooting and called her boyfriend Brian Scofield, who then dialed 911.

People.com said Scofield accompanied Adham to the police station Monday and was booked for a misdemeanor traffic warrant for past violations. He has been described as a person of interest in the case.

The magazine noted on its Web site that Scott Ruffalo was convicted in 2002 for possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
