LOS ANGELES, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Brittany Murphy, Jason Lewis and Tippi Hedren have signed up for roles in the U.S. small-screen adaptation of Nora Roberts' thriller "Tribute," Lifetime said.

The film, in which "deadly family secrets unfold against the backdrop of Virginia's Shenandoah Valley," is slated to premiere next year as a Lifetime Original Movie, the network said in a news release.

Murphy's film credits include "8 Mile," "Girl, Interrupted" and "Clueless," Lewis has been seen in "Sex and the City" and "Brothers & Sisters" and Hedren has headlined "The Birds" and "Marnie."

The last of four 2009 Nora Roberts' movies scheduled to begin production, "Nora Roberts' Tribute" joins a slate that includes "Nora Roberts' Midnight Bayou," "Nora Roberts' Northern Lights" and "Nora Roberts' High Noon."

Cumulatively, more than 34 million viewers watched the four Nora Roberts' movies that aired on Lifetime in 2007, the network noted.
