LOS ANGELES, Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Marg Helgenberger's publicist says the U.S. actress has separated from her husband, Screen Actors Guild President Alan Rosenberg.

"After 19 years of marriage, Marg and Alan have decided to take some time apart," Helgenberger's representative told People magazine Monday. "They love and respect each other and remain committed to their family."

Rosenberg and SAG have been in the news lately because the union has been unable to reach a new contract agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. The previous SAG-AMPTP contract expired June 30. Rosenberg said last month SAG members would be receiving strike referendum ballots in December.

Helgenberger, who is best known for her work on the crime drama "CSI," and Rosenberg are the parents of an 18-year-old son.
