LONDON, Nov. 22 (UPI) -- British actress Sienna Miller will receive $78,500 from a London paparazzi group and its founder to settle her harassment suit, her lawyer says.

Attorney Mark Thomson said the agency, Big Pictures, and its founder, Darryn Lyons, have agreed to pay the "Alfie" actress for damages and legal costs to settle her lawsuit over a series of paparazzi photographs taken of her, The Times of London reported Friday.

The actress sued the photographic group under anti-harassment laws originally created to target animal rights protesters.

The company agreed as part of its settlement not to attempt to photograph the 26-year-old actress in the future, an agreement her lawyer says could be a key win for celebrities.

"It's not a binding court ruling but it may well encourage other celebrities and those followed in such a way to take action," Thomson told The Times. "We hope that people will back off my client as a result of this."
