LONDON, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Former British rock star and convicted pedophile Gary Glitter is appealing a court order requiring him to notify authorities of his out-of-country travel plans.

Glitter, 64, recently served about two years in a Vietnamese prison for sexually abusing two young girls. He had previously been convicted of possessing child pornography and is on Britain's sex offenders registry.

The recording artist is not prevented from traveling abroad, but he has been ordered to tell police if he expects to be out of the country for more than three days.

Sky News said a hearing on Glitter's appeal to drop the notification requirement has been scheduled for Feb. 19-20.
