LOS ANGELES, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Julianne Hough says she won't be on "Dancing with the Stars" when the U.S. dance competition series returns next spring.

Hough, the professional dancer who has helped two celebrities win the mirrorball trophy, was eliminated from the Season 7 edition of the show this week, along with her partner, actor Cody Linley. Hough had to miss several episodes of the show this season because she underwent an appendectomy.

"I won't be on 'Dancing' this spring season. I don't know about the fall. Maybe, maybe not. We'll see," Usmagazine.com quoted Hough as saying on her blog. "I'm definitely going to focus on the music. My first album was a learning experience, and I can't wait for the next one. I feel like the writing and producing will be even better, really awesome."
