Don Ho estate focus of legal fight

HONOLULU, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Attorneys representing the estate of the late Hawaiian singer Don Ho contending court filing that an estate settlement agreement must be honored.

The attorneys filed a motion in state court in Hawaii Friday in an attempt to force Ho's children, Dorianne and Donalei, and the late singer's companion, Elizabeth Guevara, to honor an asset distribution agreement, The Honolulu Advertiser reported Saturday.

The legal motion alleges the trio had an impact on their fellow asset beneficiaries by violating the terms of the estate settlement.

The attorneys also allege Ho's children and Guevara are ignoring an upcoming arbitration session aimed at resolving the settlement conflict. That session has been scheduled for Nov. 25, 26 and 28.

The Advertiser said the attorneys for the estate of the late singer, who died in 2007 of congestive heart failure, are asking the court to force the three survivors to attend the arbitration meeting.
