Cypress Gardens decides less is more

WINTER HAVEN, Fla., Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Florida's Cypress Gardens has decided to expand its water park but get rid of its other rides and animal attractions in time for next season, the company said.

The Ledger newspaper in Lakeland, Fla., said the park intends to keep its botanical gardens and ski shows and will create more convenient parking and entrance areas.

"It is obvious the park cannot successfully function as four parks in one. We have some exciting new plans that everyone will be thrilled to see come March," co-owner Rob Harper said in a statement.
