KENTWOOD , La., Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Britney Spears's 2-year-old son Jayden has left the hospital where he was treated after falling ill during a visit to the Spears family home in Louisiana.
The pop star's publicist issued a statement Monday saying the child was admitted to the hospital Sunday because "he had a reaction to something he ingested."
"A source close to the Spears family has told us that Britney and family have left the Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center," said a message posted later on the singer's Web site. "Jayden is fine."
People.com said Spears was photographed outside the hospital Monday night, carrying her son to a waiting SUV.
Spears has two children -- Jayden and Sean Preston, 3 -- with her ex-husband Kevin Federline. Federline has legal and physical custody of the toddlers and Spears has visitation rights with the boys.
This trip marks the first time Spears has been permitted to take her children out of their home state of California since Federline was granted full custody.
The pop singer's father Jamie and attorney Andrew Wallet were granted conservatorship over her affairs after she was hospitalized for psychiatric treatment earlier this year.
Britain's Daily Mail newspaper said Jamie Spears accompanied his daughter and the boys on their visit to Louisiana.
