NEW YORK, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Nicole Kidman, Hillary Clinton and Jane Goodall were among those honored in New York as 2008 Women of the Year Monday, Glamour magazine said.

Also recognized at the ceremony at Manhattan's Carnegie Hall were model-turned-talk-show-host Tyra Banks, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, athletes Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh, artist Kara Walker, human rights activists Nujood Ali and Shada Nasser and Chanel CEO Maureen Chiquet.

Glamour said the women were chosen because they have "made unprecedented contributions to the worlds of entertainment, business, sports, fashion, science and politics."

The honorees are profiled in the December issue of the magazine on newsstands Tuesday.
