'CSI,' 'Grey's' vie for Choice awards

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "Grey's Anatomy" and "House" got nods for favorite TV drama when People's Choice Award nominations were announced Monday.

In the running for favorite TV comedy are "Samantha Who?" "Two and a Half Men" and "Ugly Betty."

Patrick Dempsey, Hugh Laurie and Charlie Sheen are vying for the favorite male TV star, while Christina Applegate, Sally Field and Mariska Hargitay are competing for the female version of the prize.

Ellen DeGeneres, David Letterman, and Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa were nominated for favorite talk-show host.

Up for favorite scene-stealing guest star are Luke Perry on "Law & Order: SVU," Britney Spears on "How I Met Your Mother" and Robin Williams on "Law & Order: SVU."

Competing for the title of favorite new TV drama are "90210," "Crusoe," "Easy Money," "Eleventh Hour," "Fringe," "Knight Rider," "Life on Mars," "The Mentalist," "My Own Worst Enemy" and "Privileged."

The shows listed in the favorite new TV comedy are "Gary Unmarried," "Kath & Kim," "Valentine" and "Worst Week."

In the running for the favorite animated comedy prize are "Family Guy," "The Simpsons" and "South Park."

The nominees for favorite sci-fi or fantasy show are "Heroes," "Supernatural" and "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles."

"American Idol," "Dancing with the Stars" and "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" were nominated for favorite reality or competition show and "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" "Deal Or No Deal" and "Jeopardy" are up for favorite game show.

The fan-voted awards are to be given out Jan. 7.
