STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- U.S. actor and comedian Chevy Chase has signed on to play a recurring role on the Swedish sit-com "Hjalp!"
The Local reported that Chase will play a foreign correspondent based in Sweden in eight episodes of the Swedish adaptation of "Help!," the British series about a group of psychology patients. The Season 3 episodes of "Hjalp!" featuring Chase are slated to air next spring.
"Chevy Chase is one my huge idols and it will be extremely exciting to act with him. All I can say is, 'He's Chevy Chase and I'm not,'" The Local quoted Swedish comedian Johan Rheborg, a co-star on "Hjalp!," as saying.
Chase, a former "Saturday Night Live" player, has starred in the films "Caddyshack," "Foul Play," "Three Amigos" and "Fletch," as well as the "Vacation" series of movies.
"It feels wonderfully fun that we can offer our viewers a comedic legend of Chevy Chase's caliber," said Fredrik Arefalk, TV4's head of programming.
