LOS ANGELES, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Spanish actor Antonio Banderas is in final negotiations to star in "Dali," director Simon West's bio-picture about painter Salvador Dali, Variety.com said.
Banderas is best known for his roles in the films "Evita," "Philadelphia," "Interview with the Vampire," "Desperado," "Once Upon a Time in Mexico," "Assassins," "The Legend of Zorro," "The Mask of Zorro" and the "Spy Kids" trilogy.
"Dali," which is expected to marry music with CGI sequences in an attempt to capture the late surrealist's vision, is the third picture about the artist that is in the works. Al Pacino is also to play the artist in "Dali & I: The Surreal Story" and Robert Pattinson will be seen portraying Dali in "Little Ashes." West's version of the Dali story is slated to begin shooting in 2009 in Spain and England, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.
