LOS ANGELES, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- A Los Angeles jury has cleared Keanu Reeves of any liability for injuries a paparazzo allegedly sustained while trailing the movie star.

Best known for his roles in "The Matrix" trilogy, as well as "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" and "Speed," Reeves generally keeps a low profile when not working and is not as frequently photographed as some of his peers.

Tabloid photographer Alison Silva sued Reeves for $711,974 in compensation for medical bills and other damages, claiming the actor hit him with his Porsche in Rancho Palos Verdes last year. Silva said he broke his wrist in the incident, making it difficult to hoist the heavy equipment he needs for his job.

The Los Angeles Times said Reeves attended the trial and testified that he didn't hit the photographer, rather the paparazzo tripped over his own feet and fell as Reeves was inching his car forward to leave a medical facility where he had been visiting a family member.

The Superior Court jury decided the case should be dismissed after deliberating an hour, the Times said.
