LONDON, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Reclusive U.S. pop star Michael Jackson insists he has no plans to participate in a Jackson Five reunion, despite claims his brother made stating he will.
The BBC said Jermaine Jackson announced this week in Australia that his younger brother Michael would once again perform with the sibling group, which was enormously popular in the 1970s and early 1980s, during a tour next year. Jermaine also said the family group was in the studio recording new material.
"My brothers and sisters have my full love and support, and we've certainly shared many great experiences, but at this time I have no plans to record or tour with them," Michael Jackson said in a statement issued to the British broadcaster. "I am now in the studio developing new and exciting projects that I look forward to sharing with my fans in concert soon."
The original members of the Jackson Five haven't performed together since 2001 when they reunited to celebrate Michael's 30 years in music. The last time the group toured was in 1984.
