ASHEVILLE, N.C., Oct. 29 (UPI) -- The 19-year-old son of film actor Bill Pullman has been arrested in North Carolina for alleged underage drinking and possession of moonshine, police said.

Pullman, who was recently seen in the wine-themed movie "Bottle Shock," is best known for his roles in "Independence Day," "While You Were Sleeping" and "Sleepless in Seattle."

His son, Jack, was arrested along with his 19-year-old friend Allan Gaddy in Asheville Monday night. Pullman and Gaddy, who are students at Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, were released Tuesday from the Buncombe County Detention Center, the Asheville Citizen-Times reported.

The charges against Jack Pullman were alleged underage possession of alcohol, possession of non-tax paid liquor, also known as moonshine, resisting arrest and assaulting an officer, the newspaper said.

TMZ and People.com said their calls to Bill Pullman's publicist seeking comment were not returned.
