LOS ANGELES, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Actress Cloris Leachman Tuesday became the latest celebrity to be booted from the U.S. competition TV series "Dancing with the Stars."

At 82, Leachman was the oldest star to ever compete on the popular show.

"I'm not leaving," she said with a laugh Tuesday night upon learning she and her professional dance partner Corky Ballas were voted off the show.

"I'm going to get a pretty costume and be here next week. I'm going to sit over there. I can't go home. Are you serious? This is a joke."

Singer-actress Toni Braxton, celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito, reality television personality Kim Kardashian, actor Ted McGinley and comedian Jeffrey Ross -- and their partners -- all got the boot during previous episodes. Olympic beach volleyball champ Misty May-Treanor was forced to drop out because she got hurt.

Still in the running for the mirror ball trophy, along with their professional dance partners, are Brooke Burke, Lance Bass, Maurice Greene, Susan Lucci, Cody Linley and Warren Sapp.

Linley is to work with professional dancer Edyta Slawinska until his regular partner Julianne Hough, who had her appendix removed Tuesday, returns to the show.
