NEW YORK, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- The estranged wife of film actor Danny Huston, son of the late filmmaker John Huston, has committed suicide, the New York Daily News reported Tuesday.

Danny Huston, the half-brother of actress Anjelica Huston, has appeared in the films "The Number 23," "Marie Antoinette," "21 Grams," "The Aviator," "Silver City" and "Leaving Las Vegas," as well as the current release "How to Lose Friends and Alienate People."

The Daily News said troubled model Katie Jane Evans jumped to her death from the roof of her home earlier this month.

Evans and Huston, who have a 5-year-old daughter named Stella, reportedly were in the midst of divorce proceedings. Evans, who is said to have initiated the breakup, had earlier spent time at Dr. Drew Pinsky's California rehab center after consuming 48 Tylenol PMs with alcohol, the Daily News said.

Huston declined to comment on the report of his wife's suicide, the newspaper said.

The New York Post said the couple had been married for six years.

A friend of Evans told Britain's Daily Mirror: "She was on anti-depressants and had been in and out of rehab clinics for months ... On the night she killed herself, she called the police to tell them she had taken an overdose, but she jumped before they could save her."
