MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 27 (UPI) -- USA Today is the top-selling newspaper in the United States, the latest Audit Bureau of Circulation report has indicated.

With a daily circulation of 2,293,310 for the period ending Sept. 30, USA Today said it is the only newspaper of the top 25 daily newspapers in the country to see an increase in print circulation.

The newspaper said it is also the leader in single-copy newsstand sales, selling more than 500,000 copies per day.

"We are proud to say that USA Today is still the preferred national newspaper in the United States. In these trying economic times, our content is more relevant than ever and our loyal readers turn to us for the news they need to keep up with the nation's conversation," Craig Moon, president and publisher of USA Today, said in a statement.
