Hollywood has eye on Sarah Palin

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Hollywood insiders say Republican U.S. vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin could enjoy an entertainment career if she falls in the general election.

Morning-show producer Steve Friedman said if the Republican electoral ticket falls short in the upcoming election, there are a number of executives who feel the Alaska governor would make an ideal TV personality, The Hollywood Reporter said Thursday.

"Any television person who sees the numbers when she appears on anything would say Sarah Palin would be great," the veteran producer said. "The passion she has on each side, love and hate, makes television people say, 'Wow, imagine the viewership.'"

RDF USA Chief Executive Officer Chris Coelen told the Reporter he could see Palin, who made a brief appearance on "Saturday Night Live," as a TV talk show host after her political career ends.

"I see her less as a variety-show host like Ellen (DeGeneres) and more of a single-topic host like Tyra (Banks), or maybe what Jenny Jones used to be," Coelen said.
