LOS ANGELES, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Crispin Glover, a U.S. actor known for his quirky roles, has signed up for a part in Tim Burton's upcoming big-screen version of "Alice in Wonderland."

Glover's film credits include "Teachers," "Back to the Future," "Wild at Heart," "The Doors," "Willard" and "River's Edge," as well as the "Charlie's Angels" movies. He also had a lead role in the motion-capture picture "Beowulf."

The Hollywood Reporter said Glover will play the Knave of Hearts in Burton's take on the classic "Wonderland" tale, which will be a combination of live-action and motion-capture technology.

Newcomer Mia Wasikowska is set to play Alice, Johnny Depp the Mad Hatter, Anne Hathaway the White Queen and Helena Bonham Carter the Red Queen.
