NEW YORK, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Sci Fi Channel says it has given approval for the pilot for a new U.S. series called "Ghost Hunters: College Edition."

The show, which is a spinoff of the network's paranormal program "Ghost Hunters," is from Craig Piligian's Pilgrim Films and Television.

"Ghost Hunters: College Edition" "features a group of college students, led by seasoned investigators, who search for the paranormal in haunted hot spots," the network said.

The original series began its run in 2004 and the spinoff "Ghost Hunters International" was introduced last January.
