NEW YORK, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Hip-hop artist will.i.am has collaborated with composer Hans Zimmer on the "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa" soundtrack, Interscope Records said Tuesday.

will.i.am, front man and producer of the Grammy Award-winning group Black Eyed Peas, performs four new songs plus a new version of the dance hit "I Like to Move It" and lends his voice to the character Moto Moto the hippo in the sequel to the 2005 animated film, "Madagascar." The new film is slated for release Nov. 7 and its soundtrack is expected to hit stores Nov. 4.

Returning from the first movie are characters voiced by Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, Jada Pinkett Smith, Sacha Baron Cohen, Cedric the Entertainer and Andy Richter. New voices featured include Alec Baldwin, Sherri Shepherd and the late Bernie Mac.

The original motion picture soundtrack album for "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa" will contain 17 tracks, including the four new songs co-written by will.i.am and Zimmer, and performed by will.i.am, as well as a number of instrumental themes penned by Zimmer and will.i.am for the movie, Interscope said.

Also featured on the CD are Barry Manilow's "Copacabana (at the Copa)" and Boston's "More than a Feeling."
